LAKE CHARLES, La. — A Coast Guard boat crew assisted two men to shore after their boat became disabled Tuesday morning nearly 2 miles southwest of Holly Beach, which is about 10 miles west of the mouth of Lake Calcasieu. Around 9 a.m., the captain of the 21-foot bay boat contacted the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Department with his mobile phone, reporting that his boat's engine fell off and that he was using dewatering pumps to keep up with the incoming water.... BOSTON — The Coast Guard expanded its search Tuesday for two missing boaters near Block Island, Rhode Island to include an area roughly 100 miles south of Montauk, New York.   Initially, at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Southeastern New England received a report that 54-year-old Linda Carman and her 22-year-old son Nathan Carman failed to return from an offshore fishing trip. NEW ORLEANS — A Coast Guard response boat crew medevaced a fisherman near Pensacola, Florida, Sunday. Coast Guard Station Pensacola received a report at 10:01 a.m. by the fishing vessel, Jesse Ann, that one of their crewmembers suffered a laceration to his hand. A Coast Guard flight surgeon recommended an immediate medevac. SAULT STE MARIE, Michigan — U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard crews are searching the waters of Lake Superior and the Keweenaw Peninsula Sunday for two adults and one child  who went missing Saturday night in the vicinity of the East Portage Canal of Houghton-Hancock, Michigan. SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard is urging boaters and beachgoers to exercise caution in and around the waters along the Northern and Central California coast due to forecasted strong swells on Sunday. Exceptionally strong rip currents and large shore breaks are anticipated to impact all west and northwest facing beaches from Sonoma County to Monterey County.
