WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard assisted an ailing man after he suffered a seizure on Bald Head Island Tuesday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina received a call from Coast Guard Station Oak Island at 3:55 a.m. that the Bald Head Island Fire Department requested medical transport for an 80-year-old man who had suffered a seizure. MILWAUKEE — The Coast Guard has ended it’s search Monday night for a man who went missing in Lake Michigan Sunday night near Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The man’s name is not being released and there is no Coast Guard imagery available for this case. The Coast Guard searched Lake Michigan for 13 hours covering more than 109 square miles. “After expending all of our resources, we had to make the very difficult decision to end our search,” said Capt. NEW YORK — The Coast Guard and partner agencies are responding to a report of a missing person who went swimming off Long Beach in Long Island, New York, Sunday night. At approximately 10:15 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Jones Beach received a phone call from concerned good Samaritans about a possible swimmer who entered the water at Long Beach and did not resurface. New Orleans – The Coast Guard is overseeing salvage operations of Barge 20851 on the Mississippi River at mile marker 491, Monday. Kirby Inland Marine will transfer the anhydrous ammonia from Barge 20851, if necessary, to ensure the vessel can be safely refloated. River lock 14 and lock 15 will be closed to traffic during operations. BOSTON — The Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma returned to their homeport of Kittery, Maine, Sunday after a 65-day offshore patrol in New England waters. The Tahoma's efforts were in support of the Coast Guard’s Operation Atlantic Venture, which focused on the safety of sea life and the enforcement of fisheries laws and regulations on commercial and recreational fishing vessels in the Atlantic from Maine to Northern New Jersey. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard, Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator’s Office and ECM Maritime Services continue to respond to an oil discharge near Bay Long, Louisiana, Sunday. Operations to safely repair the damaged section of pipeline are underway. More than 6,000 gallons of oily-water mixture have been recovered.
