WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard assisted an ailing man after he suffered a seizure on Bald Head Island Tuesday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina received a call from Coast Guard Station Oak Island at 3:55 a.m. that the Bald Head Island Fire Department requested medical transport for an 80-year-old man who had suffered a seizure.

MILWAUKEE — The Coast Guard has ended it’s search Monday night for a man who went missing in Lake Michigan Sunday night near Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
The man’s name is not being released and there is no Coast Guard imagery available for this case.
The Coast Guard searched Lake Michigan for 13 hours covering more than 109 square miles.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Venturous returned Monday following an eight-week Joint Interagency Task Force - South patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard suspended its search for a possible person in the water near St. Paul, Minnesota, Sunday.
Agencies searched from mile marker 841 to 812 on the upper Mississippi River. The case was suspended at 10:39 p.m., Sunday.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Coast Guard has suspended its search Monday morning for a missing man whose 16-foot boat found unmanned and adrift in the Columbia River east of the I-205 bridge.

NEW YORK — The Coast Guard and partner agencies are responding to a report of a missing person who went swimming off Long Beach in Long Island, New York, Sunday night.
At approximately 10:15 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Jones Beach received a phone call from concerned good Samaritans about a possible swimmer who entered the water at Long Beach and did not resurface.
The good Samaritans reported the missing person as a white male wearing gym shorts and no shirt, about 6-feet tall, 180-200 pounds, and 30-50 years of age.... [Read More]

New Orleans – The Coast Guard is overseeing salvage operations of Barge 20851 on the Mississippi River at mile marker 491, Monday.
Kirby Inland Marine will transfer the anhydrous ammonia from Barge 20851, if necessary, to ensure the vessel can be safely refloated. River lock 14 and lock 15 will be closed to traffic during operations.
The public is encouraged to stay clear of mile marker 491. If ammonia is smelled, immediately go indoors, turn off the air-conditioning, and call 911.... [Read More]

BOSTON — The Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma returned to their homeport of Kittery, Maine, Sunday after a 65-day offshore patrol in New England waters.
The Tahoma's efforts were in support of the Coast Guard’s Operation Atlantic Venture, which focused on the safety of sea life and the enforcement of fisheries laws and regulations on commercial and recreational fishing vessels in the Atlantic from Maine to Northern New Jersey. MANZANITA, Ore. — The Coast Guard rescued two people from the surf zone at the mouth of the Nehalem River after their boat capsized in Nehalem Bay, Sunday morning.

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard, Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator’s Office and ECM Maritime Services continue to respond to an oil discharge near Bay Long, Louisiana, Sunday.
Operations to safely repair the damaged section of pipeline are underway.
More than 6,000 gallons of oily-water mixture have been recovered.
To date, 155 personnel, 25 boats, 7 skimmers, and more than 12,000 feet of hard-boom have been deployed to contain and recover the product.... [Read More]
