SAULT STE MARIE, Michigan – The U.S. Coast Guard along with personnel from more than 40 partner agencies will come together in the Sault Ste Marie area Thursday to participate in a full-scale law enforcement exercise.  Community members may notice an increase in law enforcement activity along the St. Marys River, Lake Superior State University, International Bridge, CN Rail Yard, Carbide Dock and the Harvey Marina. SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard and California State Department of Fish and Wildlife's Office of Spill Prevention and Response continue their response to the overturned Spirit of Sacramento Tuesday after the vessel capsized Sunday in the vicinity of Franks Tract near Bethel Island. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard, Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator’s Office and ECM Maritime Services have established a unified command to respond to an oil discharge near Bay Long, Louisiana, Tuesday.  The damaged pipeline is isolated. Response crews are determining the best way to safely remove the remaining product from the line. To date, 74 personnel, 21 boats, 8 skimmers, and approximately 10,000 feet of hard-boom have been deployed to contain and recover the product. A family member reported the kayakers, a 42 and 19-year-old father and son, overdue after not returning at sunset.
