   TAMPA - An interagency team received the Coast Guard Distinguished Public Service Award for their efforts to combat transnational criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking during a ceremony Thursday at 10 a.m. The U.S. Attorney's Office Middle District of Florida and Operation Panama Express South (PANEX) form an interagency team that has investigated and prosecuted more than 60 cases from one of the most successful fiscal years in cocaine removal for the Coast Guard, which ran from Oct. 1, 2014, to Sept. 30, 2015.  ... LONG BEACH, Wash. — The Coast Guard suspended its search at 10:45 a.m., Thursday, for a woman that was reportedly swept away while swimming in the vicinity of Sid Snyder Beach in Long Beach, Wednesday night.  Coast Guard crews aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, from Sector Columbia River, in Warrenton, Oregon, and a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat, from Station Cape Disappointment, conducted four searches covering 625 trackline miles within 48 square miles, and responders from the Washington State Police conducted a beach search. ... BOSTON — A Coast Guard boat crew extinguished a boat fire Thursday off the coast of Jonesport, Maine. At about 6:12 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Northern New England received a call from the owner, who was on shore, that his 32-foot fishing vessel Bigger Dirls was on fire in Hopkins Point Marina.  Station Jonesport launched a 29-foot response boat crew. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard, Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator’s Office and ECM Maritime Services continue to respond to an oil discharge near Bay Long, Louisiana, Thursday.  More than 4,400 gallons of oily-water mixture have been recovered.  To date, 147 personnel, 36 boats, 11 skimmers, and more than 12,000 feet of hard-boom have been deployed to contain and recover the product.... BOSTON — The Coast Guard ended the search Thursday for the 30-year old missing kayaker off Wollaston Beach in Quincy, Massachusetts.  Around 2:15 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Boston received a call from Kyle Rager's girlfriend reporting him home safe.  According to report, Rager overturned on his kayak, losing all his belongings and swam to shore.  His kayak is still adrift and if found, mariners are urged to bring it to the local authorities.    ... WESTPORT, Wash. — Coast Guard and Washington State Department of Ecology personnel completed the pollution mitigation on the 77-foot fishing vessel Lady Lillian, Tuesday evening. Incident Management Division personnel from Coast Guard Sector Columbia River opened the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund and contracted Global Diving and Salvage to remove an estimated 4,000 gallons of diesel from the vessels fuel tanks.
