WARRENTON, Ore. — Coast Guard personnel responded to the release of 418 gallons of diesel into the Willamette River at the Kinder Morgan Bulk Terminal northwest of Portland, Monday.
Inspectors with the Coast Guard Incident Management Division in Portland are monitoring the situation as the contracted oil spill response organization investigates down river for possible residual pollution, after they boomed off and placed absorbent pads around the spill site.... [Read More]

LOS ANGELES – The Coast Guard evacuated three individuals after their vessel lost power and capsized near Skunk Point on Santa Rosa Island, Monday.
Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received notification at 4:30 a.m., that the 50-foot commercial vessel, Angels Gate, ran aground.
A Good Samaritan aboard the fishing vessel, Pacific Knight, arrived on scene and launched a small skiff with three individuals aboard to assist the vessel Angels Gate. During transit to the Angels Gate, the skiff lost power and capsized into the 4 to 6-foot surf.... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard has rescued a missing oyster fisherman in the Cocodrie, La., region, Saturday.
The man is reportedly uninjured.
An Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter rescue crew spotted the missing boat and the man walking in an area of marsh during search efforts at 1:41 p.m., Saturday.
A Coast Guard rescue swimmer was lowered from the helicopter and the crew hoisted the man from the marsh, where he had been since Sunday.... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Department and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are searching for a reportedly missing oyster fisherman, near Cocodrie, La., Saturday.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders were notified by the Terrebonne Parish Sherriff’s Department at 6:30 p.m., Friday, that Tommy Newsome was reportedly last seen by other fishermen Monday, October 19, 2015.
Newsome’s boat is reportedly an aluminum hull boat with a white cabin. It was reported to have a tarp aboard as well.... [Read More]

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard and the Honolulu Fire Department rescued 13 people from a 46-foot sailing yacht that ran aground near the Ala Wai Harbor entrance in Honolulu, Friday.
The crew of the USCGC Kittiwake and a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew established a safety zone around the sailing vessel Boomerang while HFD was able to reach the vessel via surfboard and safely offload all 13 passengers to shore. At 6:02 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Francisco command center received a call from emergency medical services of a man who fell near Bird Island.
