ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Coast Guard and partner agencies will be enforcing a temporary safety zone in the St. Petersburg Municipal Yacht Basin during the Grand Prix this weekend. The temporary safety zone will be in effect extending out to 300 feet from the basin sea wall of St. Petersburg Municipal Yacht Basin. HONOLULU — The Coast Guard is responding to a report of three fishermen abandoning ship from the 41-foot fishing vessel Vicious Cycle approximately 161 miles southwest of Kona, Hawai'i, Friday. SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The crew of a Coast Guard helicopter rescued two stranded boaters Thursday after their 34-foot sailing vessel, Sea Angel, ran aground Tuesday on Playa Mujeres Beach on Mona Island, Puerto Rico. WASHINGTON — The U.S. Coast Guard announced on Thursday the appointments of the chairman and seven members to serve on the 21-member National Boating Safety Advisory Council (NBSAC). Dr. L. Daniel Maxim will serve as chairman of the NBSAC. Maxim has been a member of the NBSAC since 2011 and is also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
