SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Napier intercepted and recovered an unmanned and adrift sailing vessel in the Mona Passage Monday after its owner reportedly fell overboard Sunday, approximately one nautical mile north of Camuy, Puerto Rico.
David Thompson, a U.S. citizen from Mich., was traveling to the Dominican Republic aboard the 49-foot Enthalpy II, when the sailing vessel was reportedly struck by a large wave that washed him overboard.... [Read More]

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard rescued two people from their 45-foot catamaran after they ran aground on the Galveston Jetties and began taking on water early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., Galveston Police called Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders reporting that a passing pilot boat saw the catamaran's lights flashing at them and called 911.
Watchstanders called the passengers and instructed them to put on their life jackets.... [Read More]

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— The Coast Guard found four missing boaters aboard their 26-foot boat, 23 miles southwest of Big Marco Pass, Florida, Monday.
Lafayette Beers, Joel Eerdmans, Brian Kekstan, and Richard Melema or Grand Rapids, Michigan were rescued with no reported injuries.... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard suspended their search for two missing boaters in Claiborne County, Miss., around 8:03 p.m., Sunday.
Response crews covered 934 river miles, and searched for over 84 hours for the missing boaters.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach command center received a report of an unknown quantity of oil coming from the cargo ship, Istra Ace, in the Cerritos channel near berth 212 and across the east basin to berth 192, also crossing near the Vincent Thomas Bridge and going up to berths 200 Bravo and 200 Yankee.... WARRENTON, Ore. — A Coast Guard aircrew rescued five people, including three children, who were stranded on Long Island, Washington Sunday.

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard and Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's request that all mariners stay off the Sabine River between Orange, Texas and Bon Wier, Texas beginning Sunday afternoon.
Restrictions are specific to the area north of Interstate Highway 10 in Orange, extending to State Highway 190 near Bon Wier.
Please remain off the river due to extreme flood currents and wake damage to residents. Please advise anyone sighted on the water to make safe efforts back to the dock or trailer.... [Read More]
