ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— The Coast Guard and a good Samaritan rescued three people from the water between Egmont Key and Passage Key, Florida, Saturday.  At 8:40 p.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a 911 transfer call from Manatee County Sheriff’s Office of a woman stating three people from her boat were in the water and missing. She reported her husband and daughter had gone in the water after the daughter’s boyfriend had jumped in and gone missing.... [Read More]

CLEVELAND - The Coast Guard is continuing to respond Friday to a 286-foot cruise ship that hit a concrete wall in the Eisenhower Lock in the St. Lawrence Seaway in Massena, New York. All passengers were removed from the ship Friday afternoon and transported by bus to Montreal, Canada. The vessel was freed from the lock wall with the assistance of the tug Pierre Julien and was moved to a lower wall of the seaway. Divers conducted a survey of the vessel and determined that the extent of the damage was to the bow of the vessel and that the vessel can sail under its own power.... [Read More]

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 53-year-old woman from a 39-foot charter boat near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Saturday. At 1:20 p.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg received a call via VHF-FM marine radio channel 16 reporting a 53-year-old woman had a knee injury and was in need of emergency medical assistance.  A flight surgeon was contacted and recommended the woman be medevaced.... BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard continues to oversee a response to an oil spill Friday at CP Crane Generating Station in Baltimore. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a report from the National Response Center Thursday of approximately 3,000 gallons of lubrication oil in the discharge canal at CP Crane Generating Station in Baltimore. CLEVELAND – The Coast Guard is responding to a 286-foot cruise ship that hit a wall in the Eisenhower Lock in the Saint Lawrence Seaway in Massena, New York, Thursday night. The vessel remains in the lock, where the water has been drained, while response crews remove injured passengers. There were 274 people, including passengers and crew, aboard at the time of the collision.
