SEATTLE — Coast Guard and partner agency law enforcement personnel detained 24 people who violated the 500-yard safety zone established around the Polar Pioneer, Monday morning.The individuals were transported to Coast Guard Base Seattle at Pier 36, issued notices of violation that include a $500 fine and released with their equipment."The Coast Guard and our agency partners are committed to maintaining the integrity of navigable waterways and protecting the safety of the maritime public," said Capt. JUNEAU, Alaska — A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew forward-deployed to Cordova medevaced a 63-year-old woman from the cruise ship Norwegian Sun near Yakutat, Sunday.

NEW YORK – The Coast Guard rescued three people Sunday after their boat capsized near Stratford, Connecticut.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., a good Samaritan called the Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound command center and said three people were in the water near the mouth of the Housatonic River.
Coast Guard crewmembers from Aids to Navigation Team Long Island Sound were nearby aboard a 26-foot boat and diverted to the scene. They arrived and found two mariners clinging to the hull of the boat. The third was rescued by the good Samaritan.... [Read More]

NEW YORK - The Coast Guard suspended the search for a swimmer who was reported missing near Perth Amboy at 2 a.m., today.
The New Jersey State Police located a body in the Raritan River, New Jersey, at approximately 8:30 p.m. about 50 yards offshore using a side scan sonar device. A dive team arrived on scene but was unable to recover the body due to currents. The State Police plan to recover the body Sunday morning. While positive identification cannot be verified until the morning, authorities believe it is the body of the missing swimmer. ... [Read More]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Coast Guard Cutter Munro crewmembers and a Coast Guard Auxiliary crew assisted two men when their vessel was disabled in Chrome Bay, near the mouth of Cook Inlet, Saturday.
Coast Guard Sector Anchorage watchstanders received a report from a concerned family member Friday that the Sea Venture, a 33-foot fishing vessel homeported in Kenai, was disabled and unable to establish communication over the radio.... [Read More]

MIAMI – A rescue crew from Coast Guard Station Miami Beach, Florida, medically evacuated a male in the vicinity of Nixon Beach, Florida, Saturday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Miami received a report from a crewmember aboard a 53-foot catamaran, Mariah, of a 37-year-old male passenger who required emergency medical services after suffering an injury to his leg after jumping off the boat.
A boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Miami Beach arrived on scene and transported the male to Mercy Hospital in Miami.... [Read More]

NEW YORK – The Coast Guard is searching for a woman who reportedly went missing, Saturday, off of Perth Amboy Victory Bridge, New Jersey.
At approximately 2 a.m., Coast Guard Sector New York watchstanders received a missing persons report from Perth Amboy Dispatch 18 stating that a 22-year-old female entered the river and was swept away by the current. The female’s friend, who was nearby, witnessed this.

GEORGETOWN, S.C. — A crew from Coast Guard Station Georgetown assisted three boaters in distress Saturday morning on the South Santee River, in the vicinity of the Santee Coastal Reserve.
Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector Charleston command center were notified of the situation at 6:42 a.m., by Charleston County’s Consolidated 911 Center. The initial report stated the 55-foot long yacht Seagull was taking on water while transiting in the vicinity of the Santee River delta. No injuries have been reported. ... [Read More]

CLEVELAND - A Coast Guard boat crew from Station Marblehead, Ohio, rescued four people from Lake Erie Friday afternoon after the people's boat capsized near Kelleys Island, sending all four into the lake.
One of the boaters used a cell phone to notify watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Detroit that the vessel was taking on water and passed his location, but communication was eventually lost and could never be re established.... [Read More]
