HOUSTON — A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries boat crew located 2 fishermen who had been missing and performed CPR to revive one of the men Wednesday morning about 11 miles southwest of Rockefeller State Wildlife Refuge and Game Preserve. The boat crew found the men clinging to the bow of their sunken boat near an oil rig. They were taken back to shore and met EMS, who took them to a local hospital for further treatment.... HOUSTON — A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries boat crew located 2 fishermen who had been missing and performed CPR to revive one of the men Wednesday morning about 11 miles southwest of Rockefeller State Wildlife Refuge and Game Preserve. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is responding to an allision and barge breakaway on the Mississippi River at mile marker 43.7 near Thebes, Illinois, Wednesday. The Coast Guard has closed the Mississippi River from mile marker 30 to mile marker 44 after the tow vessel Michael G. Morris allided with the Thebes Railroad Bridge at mile marker 43.7, causing the 30 barges it was pushing to breakaway. One barge reportedly struck a barge of another tow vessel and one barge containing soybeans is reportedly sinking. The cause of the incident is under investigation. ... [Read More]

TUNTUTULIAK, Alaska — A Unified Command has been formed to respond to the potential release of diesel fuel and lube oils from an excavator which became submerged in the Quinac River near Tuntutuliak, March 24.Coast Guard Sector Anchorage and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation are coordinating clean-up efforts with the City of Tuntutuliak and the owner of the excavator.Coast Guard Sector Anchorage received a report  of the submerged excavator March 29 and dispatched pollution responders to assess the site and direct clean up efforts.Given the remote location, saf...
