VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The crew of Coast Guard Station Little Creek conducted two back-to-back search and rescue cases Wednesday and Thursday near Fort Wool and Cape Henry, resulting in the rescue of three adult males and a child. LOS ANGELES – The Coast Guard is investigating a report of an oil spill in the Los Angeles Harbor, Thursday morning. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach command center received a report at 10:48 a.m. of an unknown quantity of oily-water mixture coming from a holding tank residing on the Vopak Terminal. SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The crew of a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter hoisted a man to safety Thursday, while the crew of a Puerto Rico Police marine unit rescued one other from a capsized vessel that had four men onboard, approximately one and half miles east of Mar Chiquita Beach in Manatí, Puerto Rico. Two of the men from the capsized vessel were able to swim safely to shore. The men were reportedly diving from a boat when a wave struck the stern which inundated and caused the vessel to capsize.... MIAMI — A man was rescued from a sinking 31-foot vessel that was taking on water 10 nautical miles north of Grand Bahama, Bahamas, Wednesday. Coast Guard District 7 watchstanders received a report of an activated EPIRB at about 10 a.m., Wednesday. They diverted an Air Station Clearwater, Florida, MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew deployed to the Bahamas that was in the area. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a report at approximately 4 p.m. of two people aboard a kayak and two people aboard a paddleboat beset by weather.
