BOSTON — A Coast Guard crew from Station Point Judith and Narragansett Fire and Rescue emergency medical technicians medevaced a 35-year-old man suffering from possible internal bleeding Friday night from Block Island, Rhode Island.

Missing is Ba Van Nguyen, 49-years-old of Vietnamese ethnicity.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received a report at 6:52 p.m., from the good Samaritan vessel, Ian Earle, Nguyen’s 54-foot shrimp boat, Regina Pacis, was seen spinning in circles with gear set in the channel with no one aboard.... [Read More]

PHILADELPHIA — The Coast Guard is searching for three to four missing boaters Friday approximately a half mile off the coast of Brigantine, New Jersey.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia received initial notification Friday at approximately 5:45 p.m. from the Brigantine Police Dept. of three to four people in the water from a capsized fishing boat.

EMERALD ISLE, N.C. — The Coast Guard medevaced a man Friday 16 miles west of Emerald Isle after a boat carrying four people ran aground.
Watchstanders at Station Emerald Isle received a report at 4:18 p.m. that the 50-foot boat Final Approach out of Hilton Head, South Carolina, ran aground with four people aboard. One passenger, a 62-year-old man, had suffered a head injury and needed medical attention.... [Read More]

BOSTON — Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod unveiled its yellow-painted MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter Friday during a ceremony at the air station.
The Jayhawk helicopter arrived in Cape Cod Wednesday and will operate out of Air Station Cape Cod for the next four years. The Jayhawk was delivered from Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and is one of six specially painted Coast Guard MH-60s donning the chrome yellow paint scheme that Coast Guard and Navy helicopters used in the late 1940s and early 1950s.... WARRENTON, Ore. — The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port, Sector Columbia River, who has oversight for all navigable waters in Oregon, established a temporary safety zone surrounding the entrance to Coos Bay, Thursday.
The temporary safety zone is in effect to protect personnel, vessels and the marine environment from potential hazards during recovery efforts of the fishing vessel Patty AJ and will remain in effect until the hull of the Patty AJ is no longer deemed a hazard or threat to safe navigation.... NEW YORK – The Coast Guard monitored the hoist of the tugboat Specialist near the Tappan Zee Bridge today.
The Specialist was part of a three-tug group that was pushing a crane barge south on the Hudson River. The 84-foot long vessel struck a stationary barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge at approximately 5:30 a.m., March 12, 2016 and sank in 40 feet of water within a short period of time. ... [Read More]
