Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received a report at 6:52 p.m., from the good Samaritan vessel, Ian Earle, Nguyen’s 54-foot shrimp boat, Regina Pacis, was seen spinning in circles with gear set in the channel with no one aboard.... Watchstanders at Station Emerald Isle received a report at 4:18 p.m. that the 50-foot boat Final Approach out of Hilton Head, South Carolina, ran aground with four people aboard. BOSTON — Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod unveiled its yellow-painted MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter Friday during a ceremony at the air station.   The Jayhawk helicopter arrived in Cape Cod Wednesday and will operate out of Air Station Cape Cod for the next four years. The Jayhawk was delivered from Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and is one of six specially painted Coast Guard MH-60s donning the chrome yellow paint scheme that Coast Guard and Navy helicopters used in the late 1940s and early 1950s.... NEW YORK – The Coast Guard monitored the hoist of the tugboat Specialist near the Tappan Zee Bridge today. The Specialist was part of a three-tug group that was pushing a crane barge south on the Hudson River. The 84-foot long vessel struck a stationary barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge at approximately 5:30 a.m., March 12, 2016 and sank in 40 feet of water within a short period of time. ... [Read More]
